This past year, Foster Love Ministry made around 400 bags.  The needs of all the children placed in foster care in Augusta county were met for 2016.  This ministry would not be possible with out the hardworking people listed below:

My name is Jennifer Eccles and I am the founder of FLM. Our mission and purpose is to provide, Joy, hope and love in tangible ways to the foster care community. We have been active foster and adoptive parents for 7 years. Foster care is a hard yet beautiful journey. One of my most favorite quotes is from Mother Teresa “Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.”

Elizabeth and family

I worked with children and families involved in foster care for several years as a counselor before my husband and I signed up to become foster parents in 2012. We have adopted two children and have had the privilege of sharing a season with others. No matter if a child becomes a part of our forever family, or is with us a short time, our lives have become so much richer to know and love them.

My career involves working with children in their worst of times. As a nurse, we can only do so much at the bedside.  It wasn’t a coincidence that Jen and I had a random conversation about her website and her mission.  “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:28  I am honored to be a part, though a small one, of a team that gives to those feel forgotten. I am currently the website editor and advocate for the Charlottesville branch, Foster Love Cville.
